The Membership Engagement Manager’s focus is manage the membership operations, to recruit new members and to execute, track and maintain a proactive membership engagement strategy promoting ILTA’s value proposition to targeted audiences. These efforts will drive enrollment, retention and participation of members. The Manager will work closely with the VP of Membership and Education to improve member recruitment, experience, benefits, volunteer opportunities and to identify and develop programs that provide additional value.
Member Recruitment and Engagement
Understand and develop the complete member journey.
Work closely with marketing to drive messaging and campaigns to welcome new members, and to create a proactive messaging strategy to align all members with the services, products, and connections specific to their individual needs
Help develop and execute the membership segmentation strategy
Understand the interests and expertise of members and assign them to the correct segments and communities
Develop resources and strategies to make deeper individual member connections within member firms
Analyze membership data to track engagement, growth/retention and identify trends
Develop and execute membership growth strategies by understanding the association’s target markets and the specific value provided to those markets
Manage the ILTA booth at ILTA conferences and partner association events
Serve as an ambassador for sister associations
Work with volunteers and staff to develop and adjust member programs as membership demographics change
Keep up to date on association membership trends
Develop specialized membership benefit “packages” and communications to inform specific audiences
Manage the online communities and Online Community Champions
Manage the ILTA Ambassador Program
Develop new membership categories in line with market demands
Work directly with members and staff to develop new programs and assess the volunteer structure to make sure it is serving member needs.
Educate members about opportunities for their participation within the organization and drive volunteer recruitment
Work with staff who directly support volunteers delivering local programming to ensure that membership benefits are communicated in meaningful ways to specific local constituencies
Track all current and past volunteer programs
Manage the membership administrative process and data strategy.
Lead the membership annual renewal campaign
Develop new processes to automate membership administrative tasks
Support membership functions and events at ILTA Conferences
Manage other membership engagement tasks and projects as they come up, for example: Peer to Peer awards, scholarship programs, first timer and buddy system programs.
Ability to travel up to 20%
Exceptional communication and customer service skills
Experience of marketing to membership groups
Experience of working with volunteer groups
Extremely organized – adept at setting up efficient processes and workflows
Ability to think creatively about membership engagement and programs.
Telecommuting is allowed.
