The Chief Executive Officer serves as the Executive Vice President of the Association, and under the direction of the Senior Officers, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors and within the parameters of the Bylaws, the CEO will lead the overall operations of the HBA of Georgia.
This position, under the strategic direction and guidance established by the Board of Directors, is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the HBA of Georgia. The CEO makes decisions, plans, organizes, directs and coordinates the staff, programs and activities of the association to ensure that the objectives of the association are attained, plans fulfilled, and member needs are met.
The HBA of Georgia CEO will:
Provide day-to-day leadership, management and administration of the association.
Plan, assist and oversee any and all aspects of the association’s fund raising efforts.
Call on prospective sponsors and cultivate relationships with company contacts to maintain a stream of non-dues revenue for the association.
Oversee the negotiation of all hotel contracts for Board Meetings and other events and supervises the meeting planning for the Association.
Oversee and coordinates all aspects of the HBAG awards program, GOAL awards, Hall of Fame, and Presidential awards.
Search, cultivate and guide future leaders for the Association.
Oversee and review editorial submissions in the HBAG News as well as manages the Georgia Builder Magazine.
Direct appropriate staff to assist the Builders Political Action Committee and Trustees with raising political action funds.
Serve as the main liaison to the all local HBA’s in the State.
Maintain a professional relationship with all Local Association Executive Officers to encourage the health and viability of the local associations.
Travel to NAHB meetings, when the HBA budget will allow, including the International Builders’ Show, Association Management Conference, Leadership Training (if in the region), and any other meetings deemed necessary by the Senior Officers.
Keep the Senior Officers apprised of important NAHB developments.
Exceptional ability to lead and inspire others is essential and required; experience should include an organization of at least similar size and complexity; including experience supervising staff and working with a Board of Directors.
Demonstrated success generating revenue and finding new revenue streams.
Great teambuilding skills; collaborative, naturally seeks others thoughts and actively listens; not afraid to address issues and conflict head on and with respect.
Adaptability and willingness to be flexible, versatile and tolerant in a changing work environment while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency.

An energetic self-starter, flexible and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
Bachelor’s degree in chosen field; MBA or CAE is a plus
