Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (“CFP Board”) – headquartered in Washington, D.C. – is the certifying body for financial planning professionals. It is a non-profit organization that fosters professional standards in personal financial planning through its setting and enforcement of the education, examination, experience, ethics, and other requirements for the CFP® certification.
CFP Board seeks a highly motivated team player to serve as Web Communications Specialist. This 1-year contract position is responsible for supporting CFP Board’s organizational goals and initiatives by providing support to help oversee the maintenance of CFP.net to further enhance CFP Board’s online presence and user experience. The successful applicant must be a disciplined self-starter, able to work independently and as a member of a team, to concurrently manage and drive results on a variety of projects.
Assists CFP Board in maintaining the current CFP.net website
Supports work to develop improved content for a redesigned site, including participating in content strategy discussions for the redesigned CFP.net website and applying updated content strategy to selected elements of current CFP.net website, including development or editing of updated content
Reviews, edits and approves content updates submitted by staff for CFP Board’s websites (primarily CFP.net and Letsmakeaplan.org), working with department representatives to complete updates in a timely manner, consistent with communications standards and, where appropriate, in alignment with updated content strategy
Processes web service requests submitted by staff, including addressing or delegating requests as appropriate, and completing related follow-up
Manages webinar scheduling and setup, including webinar registration and presentation interfaces, A/V arrangements, IT coordination, and room scheduling and setup
Monitors website analytics and site survey feedback, and addresses staff requests for analytics
Performs other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or another relevant field required
Three years or more experience working in digital content, web communications, or related field
Demonstrated work experience with Content Management Systems (Sitefinity preferred)
Experience with website development and design concepts
Excellent writing and editing skills, with experience writing for websites preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong proofreading skills and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, and follow through on issues in a timely manner
High level of professionalism and ability to work well with all levels of staff, as well as outside clients and vendors
Ability to understand and use basic HTML formatting; knowledge of CSS a plus
Proficient with image editing software such as Adobe Photoshop
Experience with web ticketing / project management systems preferred
Some knowledge of analytics reporting, such as Google Analytics, is required
Experience with Adobe Connect webinar system preferred
Experience using AMS database system (NetForum preferred)
