The ideal candidate for the Society Assistant role is mission driven. S/he has excellent member service mentality and delivery, effective verbal and written communications and strong organization and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate has experience in association management and demonstrates the ability to think proactively and creatively.
The Society Assistant, Association of Children's Prosthetic-Orthotic Clinics (ACPOC) & Cervical Spine Research Society (CSRS) supports the development, implementation, and evaluation of societies’ activities according to key association management principles and ethics in order to maintain a healthy and viable organization. S/he will perform a wide variety of detailed and complex project management activities, which are dependent upon the societies’ initiatives and strategic plan, and serve as liaison to committees as assigned.
You will support the society’s mission and vision through building strong and collaborative relationships with assigned committees. You will have “soup to nuts” responsibility for coordinating, implementing, and evaluating educational programming. From managing meeting contracts to managing committee/program chair, vendor and speaker relationships; to coordinating meeting materials, preregistration activities, on-site registration. You will deliver the highest level of customer service to the members, new and existing, from inquiries to financials. You will use various methods of communication to connect in a timely manner with the membership and the public, via the societies’ web sites, online newsletters, e-mail and over the phone. You will flaunt your administrative prowess to support your team, and the societies, by flexing your previous experience with associations, and your Microsoft Office skills.
Approximately 11 days per year (6 for CSRS and 5 for ACPOC)
Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.
Two years of association management experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Experience with Personify Database.
Excellent member service mentality and delivery.
Effective verbal and written communications.
Strong organization and interpersonal skills.
Ability to think proactively and creatively.
Must excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Cooperative, supportive, and “can do” attitude is crucial to success.
This person must have integrity, confidence, and credibility with leaders, members, vendors, and staff.
