STC’s Education Manager plans, develops, and delivers a quality education program that aligns with STC’s mission/vision and the professional development and lifelong learning needs of our members. The Manager is responsible for existing programs as well as staying abreast of developments in elearning that enhance the competencies and skills of members and incorporate current topics into the development of new and innovative education opportunities and products.
The responsibilities of this position focus on the delivery of online educational events: webinars, webinar series, recorded webinars, and online courses (both live and asynchronous). The Manager administers speaker coordination, contracting, and payment arrangements. The Manager also moderates rehearsals and all webinars and courses using GoTo Meeting/GoTo Webinar. The Manager participates in education marketing and updates the products in STC’s association management database as well as on STC’s WordPress website.
The Education Manager assists the STC Annual Conference Committee with the selection of conference education sessions and other offerings, speaker management, and registration. The Manager also maintains the conference website on a regular basis, as well as preparing the conference mobile app.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Works with other staff, committees, and members to identify educational needs.
Seeks out and develops new and innovative educational programming.
Plans, develops, and schedules webinars and online courses. Serves as the project manager and chief staff person responsible for the development and delivery of quality online education programs. Also monitors the live and asynchronous sessions of webinars and courses in GoTo Meeting/GoTo Webinar and through an LMS (learning management system). Processes webinar recordings for inclusion in online sales. Moderates the education email inbox for incoming inquiries. Creates evaluation surveys in SurveyMonkey.
Enters webinar and course information into membership product database and sets up registration portal and webpages in iMIS and WordPress. Sets up online course materials in STC’s education platform (LMS) for instructors.
Coordinates with the Annual Conference Committee with the STC Summit Call for Proposals and scheduling conference educational sessions with speakers. Reports onsite attendance and develops session evaluations. Works on keeping STC’s conference website continuously updated. Develops and updates CrowdCompass AttendeeHub Mobile App for speakers and attendees. Assists with development of a printed conference program.
Works with the communications staff to develop marketing materials for educational offerings, including emails and social media posts.
Develops and monitors an annual education budget in coordination with STC’s CEO. Reports program data weekly on attendance and income. Registers and processes fees and speaker payments.
Assists with Certification program administration. Answers certification emails and assists with CEU tracking for certificants.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience. Degree or experience in education or elearning is a plus.
Two to four years of experience developing successful education and/or training programs. Online education experience is highly desirable.
Experience in a nonprofit environment or a membership association is preferred.
Training or experience in technical communication/writing or a related field is preferred.
Ability to grasp issues and concerns of interest to the membership at large and to understand how the field of educational content development, design, and delivery is changing.
Solid understanding of the methods and models of online education delivery.
Strong knowledge of current and emerging instructional design and elearning technologies used for educational programming.
Comfortable with updating and maintaining professional websites, especially using WordPress (basic knowledge of simple HTML also helpful).
Proven ability to organize, schedule, self-manage, and multitask.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Professional and team-player approach to the workplace.
Strong customer service orientation and ability to engage directly with members.
Proven success in establishing and maintaining solid business relationships.
Self-sufficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and databases, preferably membership association software like iMIS.
