The Health Industry Distributors Association (HIDA), an Old Town Alexandria trade association representing healthcare product suppliers, is seeking an experienced professional to lead its Healthcare Supply Chain Collaborative. The Collaborative’s mission is to transform the healthcare supply chain. It will accomplish this by developing and driving adoption of industry-wide best practices and protocols.
The successful candidate will need the presence and experience necessary to engage a wide range of senior healthcare industry executives and play a meaningful, visible role in the industry. The position requires a self-starter who can develop roadmaps for success and has the program management skills to achieve those goals. Some of the capabilities we are looking for are:
Ability to quickly and effectively understand business issues
Comfort establishing relationships with a wide range of industry executives
Goal-orientation to achieve revenue and membership targets and meet program deadlines
Fundraising aptitude including membership development and conference management
Diplomacy and self-awareness
Polished presentation and communication skills
HIDA members deliver medical supplies to the nation’s hospitals, physician offices, nursing homes and laboratories. This Collaborative brings together a variety of industry stakeholders including manufacturers, distributors, healthcare group purchasing organizations, health systems, and standards organizations.

Bachelor’s degree required
At least five years professional experience
Experience in a trade association, healthcare consulting firm, and/or a healthcare organization (health system, healthcare manufacturer, distributor, or group purchasing organization) preferred
Familiarity with healthcare supply chain a plus
Strong written and verbal communications skills including public speaking
The ability to build strong working relationships with senior executives from both member companies and external stakeholders
Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills
Quick learner, intellectually curious, unafraid to dive into unfamiliar issues
