The National Association of Home Builders is seeking a strong copywriter who will develop content from internal and external sources that can be used in various marketing channels to drive demand, membership, lead generation and sales. The Marketing Content Specialist will write compelling copy and coordinate with other departments to ensure consistent messaging. Working with the Event & Product Marketing teams, the writer will conceive and develop key messaging for campaigns and their targeted audiences and channels and will manage the workflow for creating, editing and publishing content. The Specialist will also manage distribution of content across touch points internally and externally and will work collaboratively with departments throughout NAHB to help develop marketing strategy, messaging, tactics and collateral pieces monitors campaign results and adjust as needed.
Qualified candidates will have superior skills in marketing copywriting for email, website, social media, direct mail, video and other platforms. The ideal candidate must also be a creative thinker in the development of marketing plans, business messaging, themes and content in order to develop key benefits and compelling calls to action. Drive and initiative are also key in the development of plans, copy and content and as well as the ability to adhere to tight deadlines, juggling multiple projects in a dynamic team environment. Excellent proofreading, copyediting and project management skills are essential. Knowledge of various technology tools, such as MS Office, Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat as well as Smartsheet or similar project management systems is required.
A minimum of three years of marketing/advertising writing experience in an agency, association, non-profit or other service-related industry is required. Experience working with member volunteers and knowledge of the building industry a plus. Experience with social channels is preferred. A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, writing, English or related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, is required.
