The National Court Reporters Association is recognized as the premier educational and informational resource for its members who capture and convert the spoken word and create official records for the federal, state and local court systems, government organizations and private entities. Under the direct supervision of the Senior Director for Education and Certification, the Program Development Manager provides administrative coordination and support to member and school services. The PD Manager is a creative and strategic thinker who manages the education and professional development activities, including live event coordination and educational services. He position will work closely with educators and student members. The PD Manager will also serve as one of the primary leads and strategist for education programs.
Primary Job Responsibilities
School Support Programs (40%)
Respond in a timely and knowledgeable manner to all inquiries from the Schools email box.
Assist the Sr Director with the school certification process.
Occasional travel to schools to lead site visits for re-certifications.
Oversee invoicing and fee collection related to school certification programs.
Manage annual renewal process for Certified including invoicing, collecting fees, and annual report data collection.
Update database and website on any changes from the school annual reports.
Work with school owners, administrators, faculty and others to identify timely, relevant topics for continuing education webinars.
Process and handle admission leads and general school inquiries.
Coordination of Virtual Mentoring Program (15%)
Respond in a timely and knowledgeable manner to all potential mentor/mentee candidates from the Virtual Mentoring email box.
Update Virtual Mentor Handbook as needed
Oversee the mentor/mentee matching process.
Supervise on-going mentor/mentee relationships, including management of mentor/mentee reporting and support.
Address any concerns about mentor conduct or conflict and escalate when appropriate.
Maintain and expand relationships with state associations.
Maintain and report program metrics to Director.
Implement and execute program evaluations.
Committee Support (20%)
Serve as co-/staff liaison to the Council on Approved Student Education (CASE) and the Student/Teacher Committee.
Provide additional assistance to the Sr Director in support of DiscoverSteno. Attend conference calls and onsite meetings when appropriate.
Work with External Affairs team to execute the student newsletter and live and e-webinar offerings
Professional Development Support (25%)
Lead program design, marketing, recruitment and speaker coordination of live education offerings.
Work with InReach to maximize catalog offerings.
Assist with member service offerings related to continuing education.
Provide other key support to fellow staff members and perform other duties as assigned.
5 years’ experience in relevant and similar level positions in higher education or non-profit organizations.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Knowledge and proven ability to use Microsoft Office products and general office equipment.
Familiarity with Microsoft CRM or similar database, customer relationship management software a plus.
Excellent time management skills.
Precise attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills with basic knowledge of writing copy for websites and reports.
Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and show initiative.
