Chapter Relations, Project Management/Program Development
BMES is looking for a talented professional with project management skills to coordinate its Student Chapters and Student Affairs and Early Career programs. The position requires careful attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively (both in-person and through writing), strong interpersonal skills and technology prowess.
The successful candidate will be able to multi-task, simplify processes and have experience working in a membership organization, within a team-based environment.
About the position: The Student Affairs and Early Career Coordinator is responsible for two main areas of activity for the Society, reporting to the Director of Membership Development and Corporate Partnerships and the Director of Career Programs and Meetings:
Student Chapter Oversight Working with the Director of Membership Development, will create student chapter and student member recruitment and retention plans; short and long term. The position responds to student member inquiries, constant communication with all 125+ student chapters, oversees the student webinar program and is the staff liaison to the Student Affairs Committee. Accurate keeping of records and rosters in the membership database is a must.
Student and Early Career programming Responsible for programming online and at the BMES annual meeting. This includes, but is not limited to: developing the student and early career program sessions and workshops in coordination with the career programs and meetings director, managing the BMES website, career center/job board.
Other Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree is required. Two or more years of non-profit experience is preferred. Meeting planning experience a plus, but not required. Excellent customer service and communication skills, written and verbal, are essential.
