This experienced, results driven leader will work with the 18 member Board of Directors and staff to fulfill the Association’s mission, vision and strategic plan. As the principal of a high-performance team, the Executive Director will allocate staff and capital judiciously
The Executive Director will set priorities and direction as established by the Board of Directors; assess and evaluate strategies; determine how the organization maintains the “Go To Resource” status amongst other like-minded organizations in the region; set budgets; forge alliances and build partnerships to further our mission.
Lead the mission and vision of the organization to ensure member companies receive high-quality services while supporting and guiding the Association’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors
Implement and manage the budget and ensure that it is a financially viable, sustainable organization with the resources to meet current and projected growth
Develop and implement plans for new member recruitment and member retainage
Endeavor to increase the organization’s pubic identity and industry leadership
Ability to work well with outside vendors to provide strategic services for the association
Strengthen industry relationships, such as industry associations and the AGC
Strengthen government relationships
Have a working knowledge of government regulations and legal issues faced by non-profits and its member firms
Responsible for timely, transparent communication with the Board of Directors and Officers as to the condition and operations of the association and all-important factors necessary for the Board to make informed decisions
Develop means for ensuring the Association has sufficient resources to support its mission and its members
Responsible for all aspects of the Association’s employees in maintaining competent and qualified staff
Ensure adherence to the Associations mission and policies

Possess impeccable integrity as this position has access and oversight to budgets with limited internal controls
Bachelor’s degree preferred but will consider equivalent experience
Demonstrated successful senior leadership experience that is collaborative and consensus building in nature.
Union construction or development experience preferred
Commitment to results; “can-do” mindset with emphasis on accountability
Background in finance, business administration, economics or government a plus
Ability to travel throughout Illinois in order to maintain member relations and the mission of the Association.
Must have exceptional Communication, Human Relations and Leadership skills
Association experience and CAE designation is a plus.
Additional Salary Information: Compensation
Competitive compensation will be commensurate with experience and industry knowledge. Salary range is $150,000 +/- DOQ. Benefits include health insurance, a Defined Contribution Retirement Plan and auto and cell phone expenses, based on eligibility.
