Be a change agent in today’s advertising industry! The American Advertising Federation’s (AAF) Manager of Education Services is responsible for connecting our college chapter members with advertising industry leaders. This position will allow you to develop programming to further prepare students interested in a career in the advertising, marketing, media and communications industry, assist with career placement and make an impact on the next wave of advertising innovators.
Ideal candidate should have 3-5 years relevant experience. They will be responsible for the day-to-day managerial and administrative operations associated with the AAF’s College Chapter membership, National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC), AdCamps and other programs directly related to the organization’s education services that connect AAF college chapter members with AAF’s professional clubs and corporate network.
The ideal candidate will also have experience managing experiential learning and academic enrichment programs. This position requires a high level of interaction with the AAF’s college chapter university faculty.
Incumbent must possess considerable knowledge and experience in the application/operation of software programs beyond basic word processing, such as Adobe Connect, Dropbox and various social media platforms. Work will involve developing spreadsheets, presentation or graphic materials, social content and hosting large-scale video-conferencing sessions.
Program management and event planning is a must. Candidate must have the ability to demonstrate and speak to their experience both program management and event planning.
This position requires the ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously, from pre-event planning to post event duties. In addition, this position requires constant communication with external members. Candidate must be responsive and communicative in a timely manner.
Travel is required for this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage program logistics and provide overall administration.
Ensure revenues and expenditures are aligned with financial expectations.
Prepare annual budget request and ensure effective and efficient use of budgeted funds, personnel materials, facilities and time.
Determine project/program timelines, work schedules and expedites workflow.
Fulfill product orders and handle various office management tasks.
Work with team members to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the department.
Provide on-site management of programs.
Develop content for monthly newsletters, social channels, program collateral, e-blasts, press releases and website updates.
Responsible for securing program sponsors, judges and speakers.
Monitor industry media as it pertains to programming partners, as well as talent recruitment and development.
Develop and execute college chapter membership retention and recruitment plans.
Understand and apply clear, concise oral and written instruction to produce desired results.
Deliver on-the-job training to interns, temps and other employees, as needed.
Must have demonstrated ability to work independently.
Keep abreast of changes in policies, programs, procedures, standards and regulations applicable to programs and projects.
Must possess strong organizational, time management and creative thinking skills.
Attention to detail and proofreading skills required.
Use judgement and initiative in selecting the most effective work methods/tools in determining a proper course of action to achieve desired results.
Must be capable of utilizing historical information to problem-solve, as well as exercising independent judgement in decision-making within the context of existing policies, procedures and precedents.
Assist with miscellaneous tasks during programs and events on site as discussed in advance with respective program managers.
Ability to work independently and contribute in a team environment. Incumbent must be a proactive self-starter.
