Provide expertise in day to day Human Resources Management. Responsible for HR-related activities including HRIS administration, compensation and benefits, employee relations, performance management, policies and procedures, legal compliance and recordkeeping. Develop, implement and administer human resource programs, policies and initiatives. Manage and mentor Human Resources Coordinator. Work with Senior Recruitment Specialist and Organizational Development Manager as needed.
Primary Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining and maximizing the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) along with requisite employee Human Resources files. Set up processes and documentation regarding HRIS administration. Work with Human Resources Coordinator to carry out related tasks. Work with payroll on semimonthly payroll processing.
Manage and mentor Human Resources Coordinator. Ensure day to day Human Resources Management tasks are completed.
Manage and administer compensation and benefits programs to ensure they are in alignment with ASA’s compensation and benefit philosophy. Participate in compensation analysis of all positions. Recommend changes to structure/philosophy as necessary. Participate in benefit design, analysis, vendor review and selection. Responsible for administration of benefit plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Responsible for annual open enrollment/renewal process. Work with Human Resources Coordinator to carry out select tasks.
Respond to telephone, email and physical visits from employees concerning inquiries and requests on various HR topics (benefits, policies/procedures, timesheets, accrual banks, etc.). Work with employees/managers on employee relation issues. Involve OD Manager and/or Director on complex issues.
Back up Senior Recruitment Specialist as needed including new hire orientation, advertising, screening of resumes, interviewing, recommending candidates, conducting background checks and creating offer letters for assigned open positions/temporary staffing needs.
Work with Organizational Development Manager to carry out our annual performance evaluation process. Identify and coordinate training and development for current staff on process. Ensure reviews are fair and consistent across the organization.
Work with OD Manager on revamping or updating training programs and deliver training programs as needed.
Recommend, implement and administer personnel policies and procedures. Produce/disseminate employee communications utilizing multiple avenues including print, email, intranet and presentation.
Maintain knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting human resources management. Interpret appropriate laws and policies and advise Director accordingly. Ensure legal compliance and recordkeeping for Human Resources.
Manage and administer the employee appreciation, wellness and volunteer program to align with cultural aspirations. Create, promote and execute activities and events.
Prepare employment related statistical data and other Human Resources reports. Create complex reports for manager use.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field. Master’s Degree or willingness to work towards master’s degree in Human Resources a plus.
Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification or willingness to obtain required.
Minimum 5 years Human Resources Generalist experience. Association experience a plus.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures in the field of Human Resources required.
Computer proficiency in a Windows/Microsoft Office environment.
