Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and monitoring of the Society’s internal and remote computer network architecture, connectivity setup, servers, local workstations, and web infrastructure, keeping these systems up-to-date, secure, and operational. Manage both vendor- and internally-resourced projects to augment aspects of the Society’s network, web, and mobile systems. Assist with the general IT requirements of STS and STS-managed organizations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain and update, as necessary, the Society’s local area network, including installing, configuring, updating, upgrading, and troubleshooting servers, workstations, media PCs, webcams, printers, copiers, scanners, mobile devices, etc.
Manage network security, including the implementation of firewall configurations and anti-virus installations and updates.
Manage data back-up systems and protocols, and restore archived files as needed.
Oversee the maintenance of STS and STS-managed organization cloud-based servers (including domain management and SSL certificates).
Manage service arrangements with respect to the Society’s IT systems, including servers, workstations, printers, and copiers.
Assist in managing both vendor- and internally-resourced projects to enhance aspects of the STS network, web, and mobile infrastructure.
Help manage access to and maintenance of the Society’s audio-visual equipment infrastructure.
Research and make recommendations regarding the purchase of new and replacement IT hardware and software; implement approved hardware and software purchases.
Administer hardware and software inventory.
Provide support and training to staff in the use of network resources.
Provide second-level IT help-desk support for both staff and Society members.
Assist with the administration of the Society’s internal file maintenance systems and help manage the long-term storage of electronic files.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems is required.
Minimum of five years related work experience in network and IT help-desk management is required. Strong working knowledge of Windows servers/Windows OS, Linux, the Microsoft Office suite, and LAN/WAN management is essential. Background in association or other not-for-profit environment is preferred.
