NAHB has an exciting new opportunity to lead the workforce development efforts for the Federation. In this role, the AVP, Workforce Development will work with NAHB’s senior staff and other Federation experts to voice and execute an integrated strategy providing for the future of the industry by securing the workers needed to address the industry’s needs. This individual will identify and develop policy recommendations and valued products and services for the residential construction industry. To meet the desired goals, the Director will regularly collaborate with key industry stakeholders, education experts, and government Agency/Administration staff and will regularly coordinate and communicate with other NAHB management staff, state and local association staff, as well as the staff of the Home Builders Institute (HBI) and the National Housing Endowment (NHE).
The ideal candidate will be highly organized and an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing. This candidate will also have demonstrated experience in successfully developing and implementing organizational strategies, from planning phase through completion. This candidate should also have a strong presence and experience with partnering with senior leaders and business stakeholders to build relationships and educate and gain buy-in for proposed programs and initiatives. The ability to quickly turn concepts into action and achieve desired results is essential.
This position requires 5 to 10 years of experience at a management level and a strong background in workforce or education development, organizational effectiveness, and/or management. Association management experience is a plus. A Bachelor’s degree, or comparable in education and experience, is required.
