The National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) is seeking a Director of Membership, who will work alongside a team of high energy professionals in a fun and fast paced environment. This role is critical for the success of NALP as our members are at the core of everything we do. The successful candidate will possess exceptional skills in the areas interpersonal relationship development, analytical and problem solving skills, a great attitude, and the ability work in a fast pace team environment.
Working directly with the VP of Membership and Marketing, the Director of Membership oversees all membership recruitment and retention activities to ensure members have a satisfying membership experience through active engagement. Responsibilities include managing the day-to-day operations of the membership department, developing and implementing new strategic member recruitment and retention programs, oversee the promotion of existing programs, outreach to prospective and current members, and successfully articulating the member benefits to new and renewing members.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy and planning
Develop and implement membership plans and forecasts to achieve acquisition and retention goals.
Monitor and adjust campaign performance to annual budget.
Prepare and maintain membership operating budget.
Responsibility for meeting annual membership goals.
Conducts data analysis and prepares monthly membership reports.
Works with marketing department to develop recruitment and retention campaigns.
Monitors the competitive landscape.
Customer service and sales
Oversees membership customer service and sales activities.
Collaborates with NALP staff and members to develop new member benefits.
Oversee and executes membership renewal process.
Manage process of sales prospecting.
Achieve member satisfaction benchmarks by actively communicating with new and renewing members.
Develop and manage new member engagement process.
Oversees the planning and execution of the Newcomers Rally at the annual conference.
Oversees process for members-only and open discussion groups on LinkedIn, etc.
Works closely with NALP Consultant members and tracks promised benefits and renewals.
Manage the scheduling and coordination of the exhibits at NALP events and approximately 3-7 tradeshows per year.
Conducts presentations and webinars as needed.
Staff Development and Leadership
Works with VP of Membership and Marketing to train, manage, and nurture membership staff. Responsibilities include employee hiring and retention, performance reviews, and other HR related activities as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, or Business preferred.
Candidates should have 5-7 years of membership-related Association experience.
Ability to anticipate and solve practical problems and resolve issues
Strong customer service and sales skills
Strong analytic/data mining skills
Attention to detail
MS Office Suite required
Database experience required (iMIS preferred)
