Working closely with the University Engagement Manager, the Communications and Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the full range of CAS marketing and communication projects and initiatives, with a specific focus on university engagement.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Support outreach to external audiences of academics and students including through CAS Student Central, the University Liaison Program, the Academic Central Program, and CAS Student Central Ambassador Program.
Manage the CAS Student Central website and blog by providing ongoing oversight and developing content. Coordinate all marketing collateral to support the CAS Student Central Program such as e-newsletters, flyers, brochures, and branded giveaway items.
Coordinate and support the CAS’s participation at exhibit halls at external events for students and academics. Represent the CAS at exhibit booths and conferences as required. Travel will be required.
Support the development and execution of student programs at CAS meetings and seminars. Travel will be required.
Oversee administration of the CAS Trust Scholarship Program.
Support the actuarial profession’s diversity initiatives, including serving as staff liaison to the CAS Diversity Committee and the Joint Committee on Career Encouragement and Actuarial Diversity.
Manage the BeAnActuary website by providing ongoing oversight and developing content. Support other initiatives to promote the actuarial career to the high school audience, such as developing the Be An Actuary e-newsletter.
Manage CAS social media activities aimed to students. Fulfill weekly posting schedule across the CAS’s student social networking platforms.
Support communications programs aimed at the CAS candidate audience (individuals sitting for CAS exams to earn actuarial credentials).
Support the development and execution of the CAS’s communications and marketing plans for other identified target audiences not mentioned above, as needed. This may include but is not limited to writing announcements, newsletters, and developing other print and electronic communications for both internal and external audiences.
Required Experiences and Qualifications
Fully accredited four-year undergraduate degree with course work related to communications and/or marketing.
A minimum of four-five years’ work experience in marketing and/or communications, Association experience preferred.
Expertise and proven work experience in multiple social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and email communications is required. WordPress, Magnet Mail and NetForum experience would be a plus.
Experience in writing content for websites and social media postings.
Strong writing, verbal presentation, and project management skills.
Must be able to work independently, with high levels of initiative and strong attention to detail.
Ability to interface with senior-level business professionals.
