The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) is looking for a highly motivated digital strategist to join our communications team. The Manager, Multimedia and Digital Communications, will report to the Director, External and Member Communications and will perform a wide variety of tasks in connection with IDFA’s integrated communications, with primary responsibility for creating and implementing IDFA’s digital presence, including: oversight of multimedia product development, management of IDFA’s digital and social media platforms and distribution, development and leadership of email marketing strategy, help to manage IDFA’s website, and manage social and web analytics. Works with the SVP and Director, IDFA members, and vendors to support the development and execution of comprehensive digital and multimedia communications strategies and campaigns to advance IDFA’s mission, goals, and strategic plan, and to grow IDFA’s online presence. Uses digital communications skills to effectively frame policy and advocacy issues and translate them for general and policymaker audiences. Manages IDFA’s digital editorial calendar. Tracks and reports on analytics of all communications’ vehicles (website, newsletters, social media) to take steps to improve the organization’s digital marketing plan. And uses email marketing to help build and cultivate the IDFA member community.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience at a trade association, Capitol Hill, or agency setting in communications/public affairs with an understanding of the political process and interest in public policy.
A gifted copywriter, able to draft, refine, and edit social and digital content.
Excellent project manager, capable of overseeing multiple deliverables and managing vendors/contracts.
Experience creating and/or editing video and multimedia content for social media and web channels.
Has project managed or led paid advertising/promotion campaigns via Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Instagram.
Knowledge and experience with email marketing platforms such as MailChimp and Constant Contact.
Digital strategist, eager to learn and implement the latest trends in digital media and integrate them into broader communications campaigns.
Community manager, with knowledge of how to monitor, maintain, and optimize Facebook pages and Twitter accounts.
Creative, working both in groups and independently, and driven to make “good” content “great.”
A lover of food, agriculture and food and ag innovation.
Works with the Director, External and Member Communications, SVP, Executive & Strategic Communications, Association staff, subject matter experts, member company communicators, and vendors to support the development and execute comprehensive communication strategies and campaigns to advance IDFA’s mission, goals, and strategic plan.
Uses communications skills to effectively frame policy and advocacy issues and translate them for general and policymaker audiences. Identifies the most effective use of digital and email communications vehicles and forums for projects.
Manages Association’s social media channels and email marketing platform and creates digital and email content as part of wider communications campaigns.
Leads creation of video and multimedia content for social media and web.
Manages IDFA’s digital editorial calendar.
Tracks and reports on analytics of all communications vehicles (website, newsletters, email, social media) to take steps to improve the organization’s digital marketing plan.
Ensures IDFA’s marketing, messaging, and branding efforts are consistent with IDFA’s guidelines.
Supports the process of updating, refining, and evolving IDFA’s website to maintain fresh content and a user-friendly design.
