The National Wildlife Control Operators Association is the trade association for wildlife control operators in the United States and Canada. Organized as a 501 ( c ) 6 non-profit corporation in 2000, NWCOA exists to assist persons or organizations by providing education, products, and services related to commercial wildlife damage management and control activities. Our mission is to build strong nuisance wildlife control companies.
In the last 5 years, NWCOA has doubled our membership to over 1,000 members and increased the number of training opportunities by 5 times to 32 events nationwide. Training and education are the lifeblood of our organization.
We are now looking for a person or an association management company that has the built-in capacity to use our growth momentum to continue this steep growth curve. The AMC will act as Executive Director and provide all support for the association. We are currently located in Virginia, but your office will become our new headquarters.
The AMC will serve as the administrative office and chief executive under the direction of the officers and Governing Board. The AMC is responsible for the effective conduct of the affairs of the association and assists the officers and the board leaders in the formulation of the association's mission, goals, and objectives. In frequent consultation with the association President and Training Coordinator, the Executive Director plans, organizes, coordinates, and directs programs and activities of the association and is responsible for its fiscal management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide all day-to-day administration of NWCOA office.
Provide all communication for NWCOA including telephone, written and email communications.
Develop and maintain vendor relationships.
Assures that Association has proper governing and legal documents.
Responsible for association operating in compliance with applicable laws and regulations (State and Federal laws, Articles and bylaws, etc.).
Ensures compliance with respect to articles of incorporation, annual incorporation filings, and Bylaw compliance.
Governance and Leadership
Effectively interact with Board and Committees to identify and implement the organization’s goals through monthly board meetings and consistent communication.
Oversee creation and consistent delivery of Board orientations.
Oversee the nomination and election process
Develop, present and manage the organization within an annual budget.
Provide all accounting functions, including but not limited to: A/R, A/P, account reconciliation.
Provide effective financial reporting to the Board and relevant committees, proactively alert Board to any significant variances.
Maintain an investment policy statement and all related reporting.
Support all functions of membership.
Process new memberships and provide new member packets.
Provide member invoicing and retention.
Provide customer service to members.
Education, Training and Certification
Oversee, schedule and plan all training and certification events.
Work closely with the Training Coordinator to support the development and review of all certification programs.
Provide all meeting planning functions from site selection and contract negotiation to food & beverage and on-site logistics.
Develop all promotional materials and market all the meetings.
Provide all registration functions
Maintain records of each person who earns certification through NWCOA.
Publish a quarterly newsletter
Provide email news updates to members
Manage logos and use of mark policies
