Provide front-line helpdesk support and troubleshooting for Windows-based workstations (laptops and desktops) and associated software. Answer questions regarding and/or address workstation-related issues for the Society’s employees in person, via telephone, or remotely. Coordinate IT inventory and the IT corporate system image for deployment and periodic updating. Provide IT orientation and training for the Society’s employees.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Provide front-line support for workstation issues (hardware and software related) as reported and tracked through the Society’s IT helpdesk system.
As needed, escalate helpdesk cases to the next level, working as appropriate with other STS IT staff team members.
Develop strong familiarity with and provide training regarding the Society’s core applications (Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Adobe Acrobat, etc.).
Support staff in their implementation of website updates.
Coordinate the use of STS loaner laptops and other loaner IT equipment.
Prepare and secure shipments of STS IT equipment for off-site meetings, and assist with the operation of STS equipment in Society conference rooms and off-site locations.
Working with the Senior Manager – IT, create and modify the Society’s corporate system image for computer deployments and reimaging.
Coordinate user creation and deletion.
Provide IT user orientation for new staff.
Help support the STS VoIP telephone system.
Help configure and deploy new and replacement workstations.
Support all Society printers and copiers, and coordinate the adequate provision of toner and other printer/copier-related supplies.
Monitor and maintain IT equipment and related software as directed (media PCs, projectors, wireless keyboards, etc.).
Assist with the creation and modification of technical documentation for IT internal use.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems is required.
Minimum of one-year work experience providing IT helpdesk services within an environment dedicated largely to Windows workstations, and technical support with respect to an enterprise-level database.
Essential Skills and Abilities
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficiency with Windows operating systems (server and desktop), Active Directory, and the Microsoft Office suite
Proficiency with enterprise database software, ideally Microsoft Dynamics CRM
Familiarity with Drupal
Ability to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously
Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, volunteer leaders, other organizations, and industry contacts; tact, diplomacy, and good judgment
