This position is shared between test development and psychometrics to average a 50%/50% time responsibility split. The individual filling this position will coordinate test construction activities and conduct statistical analysis ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and industry standards, accreditation requirements and quality assurance principles. This employee coordinates test reviews with volunteer subject matter experts and will work with vendors to assure quality control in test publication. This individual will be responsible in assisting in development and implementation of psychometric procedures and data processing routines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned.
Assist in the construction, review, quality control and publication of NBCRNA assessment products.
Facilitate remote and in-person item and exam review meetings of subject matter experts.
Provide support for statistical and evaluative components for testing products such as analysis of item (question) banks, production of item inventory reports, monitor item performance, and identify items performing outside accepted parameters.
Clean and combine or organize data for analysis.
Establish basic analysis routines, examine and analyze test results data based on classical test theory (CTT) and item response theory (IRT) using software such as WINSTEPS, SAS, SPSS or R.
Prepare reports based on analysis of testing metrics and test-taker demographics.
Perform ongoing maintenance of the item bank database, to include item reclassification, enemy item identification, upload and QC of CTT and IRT item statistics, copyright registration preparation.
Work with both Director of Psychometrics and Director of Test Development for execution of specific duties, as assigned.

Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, and Outlook) and database applications.

The National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting patient safety by enhancing provider quality in the field of nurse anesthesia. We accomplish our mission through the development and implementation of credentialing programs that support lifelong learning among nurse anesthetists.
Each year well over 2,400 individuals pass the NBCRNA’s National Certification Examination and are able to enter into specialty nurse anesthesia practice. In addition, over 50,000 nurse anesthetists in the United States and its territories participate in Continued Professional Certification (CPC) program.
