What you'll do:
Engage in strategic planning to set direction for the activities and programs for Live Education. Apply trends and innovations in adult learning in developing education to meet diverse customer needs and delivery preferences.
Identify professional practice gaps and educational needs and develop creative solutions to meet diverse customer needs.
Develop live educational events at various international locations with consideration of local culture, language and educational needs.
Ensure that the societies activities are consistent with the organization's policies and procedures, ACCME Accreditation Criteria, ACCME Standards for Independence in CME, ACCME policies, and other applicable requirements.
Drive the use of data to inform decision making and evaluate programs.
Oversee the development and implementation of Spotlight Courses, including program development, market research for location selection, logistics, vendor and venue selection, price modeling, revenue projections and budget management.
Proactively identify resources needed to support education program development.
Stay abreast of developing trends and methodologies in the field of continuing professional development in order to evolve the programs to make optimal use of modern educational methodologies and technologies.
Work with volunteers on educational program development and delivery. Provide staff support to education-related committees. Prepares Board reports, agenda items and new program requests as needed.
Responsible for employee development and performance management within the department. Supervise or directly handle hiring, training, development, and evaluation of staff in the Live Education department. Maintain an environment to support professional development and growth of employees to their fullest potential.
What you'll need:
Advanced degree in education or education-related discipline strongly preferred.
Minimum ten years progressive experience in medical education environment, either with healthcare association or other medical education provider, with experience contributing to departmental or organizational strategy.
A broad knowledge of and demonstrated history of success in business practices, educational theory and instructional technology applicable to delivering educational curriculum.
Demonstrated understanding of evolving continuing professional development and credentialing requirements for physicians and experience developing programs to meet those requirements.
Work collaboratively with other senior team members as part of the annual planning and product development process to assess member needs, program viability, and development of successful business models to support educational and practice support goals.
Experience working with volunteers to develop and implement educational programming.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in and comfort with team-oriented approach to project management.
Minimum of 7 years' experience in staff supervision.
Experience with budget development and management.
