The Medical Researcher provides expert literature search services in support of the standards, quality and health policy department through research projects, systematic reviews, and research data management. Under the supervision of the Quality and Performance Improvement (QPI) director, serves as the point person for the division for all literature search and research requests.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Provide expert literature search services in support of standards, quality and health policy. department with research projects, systematic reviews, and research data management.
Engage with members to understand the research question and refine as necessary.
Perform environmental scans for existing guidelines on focused topics.
Translate research questions into concepts, identifying appropriate Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) terms and keywords for each concept.
Provide guidance regarding attribution and copyright issues, procure copyright permissions when required.
Prepare and present instructional sessions on systematic literature reviews to expert panel members both in-person and via webinar.
Conduct literature search and environmental scan to build rationale for performance measures development.
Secondary Functions and Responsibilities
Maintain standards website ensuring accurate search terms for standards documents.
Manage submission process and relationship with publication journal contacts to submit standards documents.
Flag existing standards and quality documents for review, as determined by the review cycle, and prepare flagged articles for review by the Standards Steering Committee or Quality and Performance Improvement Committee.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Develop complex systematic literature search strategies utilizing Ovid SP, PubMed, Scopus, and grey literature sources.
Manage extensive EndNote libraries.
Clinical data analysis or medical terminology a plus.
BA degree in library sciences, health, or research-related field
Experience in conducting clinical practice guidelines literature searches
Applied knowledge of literature and abstract review software
