PRIMARY FUNCTION: The National Catholic Educational Association is currently seeking an Events Manager to join the Events team. As part of the Events Office, the Events Manager will assist in the design, development, and management of all association events including the annual convention & expo, fundraising dinner, and other association meetings and workshops. This position will also provide administrative support for the director.
Manages all logistics (room sets, food & beverage orders, audio/visual) at Convention & Expo headquarters hotel to include but not limited to awards dinner, lunches, and seminar programs
Maintains and updates registration and housing reports for major association events
Maintains registration process for host diocesan attendees at the NCEA Convention & Expo
Manage the development of NCEA Mobile app for all NCEA events
Processes registrations for Catholic Leadership Summit
Maintains website pages for the NCEA Convention & Expo
Working in conjunction with the Leadership/Professional Development (LPD) Team, implements Call for Proposals for the NCEA Convention & Expo, Seminars, and Catholic Leadership Summit
Working in conjunction with LPD, deploys speaker invitations and reminders
Assists with logistics for Association fundraising dinner
Assists with budgeting and tracking of expenses for NCEA events
Provides pertinent logistical details to Advancement Manager for Corporate Partner fulfillment,
Provides administrative support to Director of Association Events to include responding to the Events in-box in a timely manner as well as note taking during planning meetings and answering attendee inquires either by phone or email.
Maintains positive relationships with hotel contacts and vendors
Travels onsite to events
Other duties as assigned
BA required in Hospitality Management or related field
CMP or CEM certification preferred
Strong project management experience and organizational skills
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in event planning
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and iMIS
Proficiency in RISE platform or other WYSIG editors
Knowledge of Cadmium, CoreApps, Social Tables software, CVENT, and other event planning software.
Ability to travel 5-6 times per year occasionally working weekends non-regular hours
Knowledge of Catholic Church and Catholic education
