Determines the eligibility of applicants to take the ASCP Board of Certification US/International examinations. Reviews and evaluates supporting documentation submitted by applicants, and interpretation of current eligibility requirements. Maintains applicant database records and processes all applicant correspondence. Answers questions regarding eligibility requirements from applicants, candidates and Program Directors.
The Evaluator must have knowledge of the BOC “Procedures for Examination and Certification” and eligibility requirements for all certification/qualification/licensure examination categories as assigned in order to properly determine eligibility for examination. The Evaluator must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Processes applications for assigned examination categories.
Determines examination eligibility and notifies applicants accordingly.
Responsible for maintenance of applicants’ application, including name and address changes in Personify.
Provides courteous and professional customer service.
Responds to correspondence/inquiries (relating to assigned examination categories) and the examinations in general.
Determines applicant eligibility for examination by reviewing, calculating and converting official transcript course credits for Associate degrees, Baccalaureate degrees or higher as appropriate.
Determines applicant eligibility for examination by reviewing documentation forms submitted by employers for appropriate work/training experience and calculating the years of work experience to meet eligibility requirement.
Notifies applicants of their status (deficient, eligible) by maintaining application status in the personify database evaluation process module.
Provides courteous and professional customer service to applicants and Program Directors on a daily basis regarding applicant status.
Educational Background – An Associate Degree or 60 semester hours from a regionally accredited college/university strongly preferred.
Work Experience – Minimum of one (1) year related experience.
Special Training/Skills– Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Knowledge of Windows, Word and the ability to operate the database management system
