Manage the accounting, budgeting and financial reporting processes for the association. Support the preparation of financial analysis of association operations for review by association management, the Governing Board and the Budget and Finance Committee.
Essential Job Functions

These essential job functions may change from time to time based on the strategic and operational needs of the organization.
1.Lead all daily, weekly, monthly and other periodic financial operations, including payroll processing, to complete, analyze, reconcile, report and interpret accounting transactions and information with an emphasis on timely close of the accounting process each month, appraising operating results, variances, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operational effectiveness of the association. This includes providing timely reporting for relevant committees and for the association Governing Board.
2.Maintain the association’s system of accounts, including depreciation schedules, contracts, receivables write-off schedules and other foundational accounting records that impact accounting transactions and operations. Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
3.Manage the preparation of the annual budget as well as the periodic forecast updates for the association, including budget and financial analysis and development of short and long-term financial goals.
4. Assist with the ongoing process improvement initiatives for the department. Identify, support, champion and provide guidance and leadership for the team as part of a change management process.
5. Manage strategic relationships, both internally and externally, to achieve appropriate levels of collaboration in responding to and addressing matters of the financial operations. This includes internal directors, managers, and staff across the association, as well as external auditors, insurance brokers, and banking partners.
Education/Experience/Knowledge:
Requires expertise typically acquired through completion of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of seven years progressive, financial management work experience.
Requires familiarity with nonprofit accounting standards and requirements typically acquired through a minimum of 2 years in a senior accounting position for a non-profit organization.
Familiarity with MS Dynamics GP and iMIS is preferred, but not required.

Technological: Intermediate level expertise with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and Outlook) and automated accounting and payroll software.
