Enjoy great flexibility and generous benefits. The Spencer Educational Foundation (SEF) is seeking an Operations and Events Manager to support events, marketing, public relations, and fundraising. The position reports to the Executive Director of the Spencer Educational Foundation.
Spencer Educational Foundation is a standalone non-profit entity that contracts with the Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. (RIMS) to administer payroll, benefits, and other services. This role is within the Spencer organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Fundraising
Organize and provide data for existing and potential donor meetings using DonorPerfect database and other sources of data; create related presentations as requested.
Work with Executive Director to create Stewardship programs and presentations for major donors.
Process donations and acknowledgements through main and ancillary platforms.
Prepare materials for and staff booths/kiosks as needed for industry conferences and trade shows.
Event Management
Work with event management company and all stakeholders to ensure successful execution of annual gala, 5K run, and other events.
Add structure to annual fundraising events to allow for consistency and scale year over year.
Manage donation invoicing, tracking, receiving, and processing in conjunction with these events.
Marketing and Public Relations
Coordinate with the Executive Director and Programs Manager to produce a minimum of eight newsletters per year, one annual report, and one Spencer Scholar Resume Book.
Manage and update the Spencer website and all marketing collateral.
Oversee and/or produce press releases, advertisements, and other promotional materials.
Arrange press interviews and prepare Foundation leadership as needed.
Work with Social Media consultant to ensure consistent messaging and relevant content.
Work with Programs Manager to promote programs and develop profiles and testimonials of Spencer Scholars and other program participants.
Oversee and evaluate vendors connected to marketing/PR activities.
Oversee production of annual overview video as well as video testimonials used for events, solicitations, and social media purposes.
General
Attend all SEF board meetings and relevant conference calls; Plan/coordinate committee calls and take minutes as needed.
Assist Executive Director in compiling periodic dashboards outlining metrics related to fundraising and strategic objectives.
Assist Executive Director in managing annual budget by providing relevant data.
Carefully track and consistently report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to areas of responsibility.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor degree or equivalent experience.
Years of Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in event management, marketing, PR, data management, and fundraising.
Skills/ Competencies:
Collaboration and project management.
Interpersonal, written/verbal communications.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Exceptional analytic skills and data-driven thinking.
Strong time management and prioritization skills.
Computer Skills:
Basic presentation and web design skills using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Squarespace, and other applications.
Experience with DonorPerfect preferred.
Travel Requirements:
<5% travel to conferences, tradeshows, meetings, and events.
Work Location:
Work from home option is available. Office location available in New York City
