About the Role
This role is ideal for an experienced professional who is excited to apply their skills and expertise to provide leadership and strategic direction to the development and delivery of products and services focused on cellular therapies and novel biotherapies.
The Vice President, Biotherapies and Innovation serves as a member of the senior team and key thought partner in driving ongoing commitment to the association’s culture and strategic direction among staff and stakeholders.
Identifies and develops partnerships and business relationships to support strategic initiatives in areas related to product and service development, relationship strategy, Biotech, and manufacturing and standardization.
Understands the scientific background, as well as the environment, member, customer, and industry partner needs, and translates it into the development and implementation of services and solution offerings.
Provides oversight of new product development, product/portfolio management, and strategic implementation.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of seven years of experience in the management of a cell therapy or related biotherapies in academia or industry. Additionally, they have -
Demonstrated broad medical, scientific and technical understanding of biotherapies, specifically cellular and gene therapies.
Knowledge of or familiarity with cGMP, regulatory requirements and accreditation standards related to pharmaceutical manufacturing and/or tissue collection processing.
Proven track record developing and implementing new programs and services. Proven track record and success in motivating multifunctional teams to think harmoniously, driving for innovation, and achieving results.
Knowledge of the biotherapies manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of the biotech environment, both in academia and industry.
Excellent judgment with creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Exceptional collaborative, interpersonal, and teaming skills. Educator and consensus builder.
Superior organizational and people management skills. Able to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers, coach staff, develop high performing teams, and hold those teams accountable to get results.
Energetic, flexible, collaborative and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical initiatives.
Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and ability to effectively interface with senior management, all staff members, members, general membership, and external stakeholders.
