The Texas Wine and Grape Growers Association is pleased to announce an opening for the Manager of Conferences and Competitions position to be filled as soon as possible. This position will report directly to the executive director.
The ideal candidate has
an interest in (but not necessarily prior experience with) the commercial production of wine and grapes
experience planning and managing complex events,
experience using event databases,
experience using social media to promote events,
strong written communication skills,
experience maintaining website content.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work with the executive director to plan events that benefit the membership of the Texas Wine and Grape Growers Association and the industry as a whole. Manage the implementation of the Association’s events to include event promotion, event sales and registration, speaker coordination, volunteer coordination and on-site management.
Maintain content on the Association’s website. Produce the Association's newsletter.
Work closely with and assist the sponsor and exhibitor manager and membership manager when necessary. Not limited to, but specifically assist the membership manager with social media when needed
Required Skills and Qualifications
Ability to work independently AND as part of a team.
Excellent time-management skills, including the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
Ability to set and meet deadlines.
Strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with the wine and grape industry.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Demonstrable experience using event databases.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
Telecommuting is allowed.
