The Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) is the professional organization representing the $214 billion third-party logistics (3PL) industry. TIA is the only organization exclusively representing transportation intermediaries of all disciplines doing business in domestic and international commerce. TIA is the voice of transportation intermediaries to shippers, carriers, government officials and international organizations.
The Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for managing TIA’s marketing and communication efforts in support of meetings, events, education and sales. The position is primarily responsible for the management of the TIA website, analytics, digital marketing and social media channels. This is an exciting opportunity to join TIA and our growing MarComm department.
Reports to the Director of Marketing & Communications and collaborates with staff across the Association to develop creative content related to TIA programs, projects, and events for use across a range of distribution channels in support marketing goals and the Strategic Plan.
Assist in planning marketing strategies and objectives, including creating marketing materials and campaigns.
Monitor analytics to make recommendations (reports and analysis) on how to improve marketing and communications across website, email and social channels.
Manage the creation and successful delivery of online and social media content that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action.
Manage and maintain the TIA website; create new landing pages for meetings, events, and programs.
Manage monthly audit of TIA website to ensure all data is current and accurate.
Manage the drafting of press releases, requests from media and arrange for interviews with TIA executives and leadership.
Develop compelling email marketing materials and segmented campaigns using Informz platform.
Assist in production and review of TIA’s weekly newsletter, monthly magazine, and monthly podcast.
Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:
3+ years’ experience in marketing/communications position (preferably with an association or nonprofit).
Demonstrated experience handling a high volume of work and performing in a fast-paced environment, with keen attention to detail.
Extensive knowledge of social media channels and best practices on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.
Experience with graphic design (InDesign, Illustrator), web-based content publishing (WordPress) and email marketing (Informz).
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Self-motivated, flexible, and goal-driven, with a demonstrated ability to work well independently as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Excellent telephone and in-person customer service skills.
Proven history of developing, managing, and writing successful communications and publications.
