Come join the premier advocacy and policy organization for the world's leading innovation companies as the Executive Vice President of Policy. The Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), located in Washington, DC, is seeking an Executive Vice President of Policy to oversee the development of policy positions for all of ITI’s core and non-dues revenue offerings and to serve as the principal policy strategist for ITI. The Executive Vice President will bring substantive experience to the most important tech related policy issues, strong working relationships with relevant foreign governments, and experience advising clients on strategic policy matters. An understanding of the technology industry and a successful track record of working in ITI’s key priority areas is required. This executive leadership position works closely with ITI member companies, ITI colleagues in the US and abroad, and the President and CEO to develop and implement strategies that produce tangible results in advancing ITI members’ policy goals and objectives.
Major Responsibilities include:
Oversee and lead the work of ITI’s Policy team; build, lead, and develop the Policy team, guiding them to new levels of achievement and collaboration.
Serve as an example of the organization in affirming ITI values to ensure the excellence and consistency of management process and practices throughout departments.
Serve as an ITI officer with fiduciary responsibilities to the company and invest in the organization’s success.
Regularly interact with ITI’s Board Members and Executive Committee and participate actively in ITI member company recruiting activities.
Serve as a strategic counselor, shaping ITI’s course through insight and advice on key decisions.
Lead the development of policy agenda priorities and strategy that represent consensus positions of ITI membership.
Determine positions on U.S. and international issues that reflect ITI members’ priorities.
Manage a global policy budget; participate in the development and execution of the ITI Business Plan, including preparing one- and three-year plans and budgets for policy.
Oversee and provide leadership for ITI’s activities on monitoring, communicating, and developing policy issue priorities.
Ensure ITI is the principal organization for U.S. and international policy makers around matters impacting the technology industry.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of fifteen years of professional experience forming or influencing the formation of public policy, in both the United States and around the world, including five years in a management role. An advanced degree in public policy, law, business, international relations, or another similar field is preferred. Significant experience managing accomplished public policy professionals, a robust professional network in Washington and other capitals, including in Europe, and a high comfort level interacting with and achieving agreement among groups of diverse government, industry, civil society, and other stakeholders are required. ITI is seeking candidates with a deep knowledge of a wide range of public policy issues affecting the technology sector, including privacy, cybersecurity, trade, tax, standards, regulatory, environment and sustainability, and public sector.
