Executive Director: The Executive Director shall be the chief staff officer of the association, responsible for overall strategic management, tactical administration and operations of the RIALA office and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Regularly confers with regulators, media and policy advisors in developing policies or positions.
Identify threats and opportunities to the assisted living industry. Develop and implement the strategic plan.
Report to and work closely with the Board of Directors to seek their involvement in policy decisions, fundraising and to increase the overall visibility of the organization.
Responsible for the enhancement of RIALA’s image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, state, civic and private organizations.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; advanced degree(s) preferred.
Excellent public speaking skills.
Strong knowledge of Rhode Island’s state political environment and government relations.
Prior experience in association administration preferred
Knowledge of the assisted living industry preferred
Ability to work independently, to lead and manage multiple projects.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications, analytic and negotiation skills.
Strategic vision and system-level thinking. Views the RIALA members as customers and can manage more than one viewpoint on a particular issue.
High level strategic thinking and planning. Ability to envision and convey the organization’s strategic future to the staff, board, members, volunteers and supporters.
Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with multiple stakeholders
Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy.
Excellent active listening skills.
Ability to process large volumes of new, quickly changing information and work with it immediately.
