Healthcare Distribution Alliance (HDA), representing the nation’s healthcare distributors, seeks a Vice President, Communications to join our growing team.
This role reports to the Senior Vice President, Communications and Marketing and serves as communications strategist and leader for HDA. You will be responsible for ensuring the effective utilization of media and public relations in support of HDA advocacy efforts and industry value positioning. This position is also responsible for the HDA’s digital presence
Position responsibilities:
Works with SVP to manage association’s strategic communications and marketing to promote the value of healthcare distribution industry and advance HDA’s advocacy agenda with media and policymakers.
Identifies ways to communicate the industry’s value proposition and create opportunities to increase visibility for member companies.
Implements public relations initiatives and campaigns as agreed to by the executive management team and members.
Cultivates and manages relationships with trade and national media. Coordinates interviews for HDA staff and members with the media and serves as spokesperson with trade media.
Develops and implements research programs to assess brand awareness, message effectiveness and audience impact.
Collaborates with HDA Foundation on promotion of studies and programs, and development of concepts for research projects that promote the value of distribution.
Oversees all aspects of HDA’s web properties (hda.org, healthdelivered.org) related to content and external positioning as well as oversight of social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Twitter (@HDAconnect).
Qualifications:
College degree (B.A or B.S.) in public relations, communications or journalism.
Ten years progressively responsible experience, with focus on management experience in public relations, marketing and communications. Healthcare or distribution related experience highly desirable.
Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management and members.
Knowledge of legislative process and experience in advocating legislative positions
Knowledge of the systems and procedures involved in operating effective public relations and marketing campaigns.
Expertise in digital publishing, software, and concepts.
Strong interpersonal skills to work with all levels of association staff, vendors, members, and other publics.
