The Education & Events Coordinator ensures the successful operations of AMWA Education programs designed to inform and educate medical communications professionals. The Coordinator provides general operations support as needed for live webinars, online learning activities, the annual conference, chapter or regional conferences, and onsite training workshops. The Education & Events Coordinatoris responsible for working collaboratively with AMWA staff, subject matter experts (SME), members, and vendors towards meeting program goals and the implementation of new educational programs and resources. This position also requires working effectively and efficiently across AMWA technology and systems, including AMS, CMS, LMS, Excel, and Survey Monkey, in supporting the creation, management, tracking, and evaluation for all education programs.
Major Program Areas & Key Responsibilities
Coordinate online education program development and operations (including Webinars)
Support operations for all in-person Events (Medical Writing & Communication Conference, AMWA Meetings, and other events)
Provide general support and customer service

Requirements
Three to five years’ experience in related work, preferably with a membership association, managing conferences and events, educational course development including webinars and online learning programs. Experience organizing, implementing, maintaining, and building content into a learning management system and coordinating certificate and/or certification or standards programs. Candidates must be familiar and proficient working with technology and databases, such as association management systems (AMS), learning management systems (LMS), and content management systems (CMS). AMWA uses the YM suite of products, and experience with this system is a plus, but not a requirement.
The position requires an organized, enthusiastic, and flexible individual who is capable of handling multiple projects at the same time and collaborating with others. The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent communications and project management skills, and expertise using spreadsheets for tracking and reporting.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
At least three years of work experience, preferably within nonprofit organizations or associations
Project management experience preferably with online education and conference programs
Ability to prioritize and manage a work flow that involves interruptions and multiple projects
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Competency working with AMS, registration software programs, website content management, and LMS for online course management.
Proficiency with data bases, data entry and pulling reports
Strong customer service orientation
Professional demeanor and ability to work in a team setting
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills; ability to complete and prioritize multiple tasks
Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and to adapt to shifting priorities
Ability to travel to the annual conference; Flexibility to work extended hours as needed
Self-starter and a ability to work independently with minimal supervision
College degree or relevant coursework preferred; previous work experience considered in lieu of degree.
