The main function of this position is to facilitate the continuing professional development of our members by providing opportunities for members to engage in many activities that support growth both personally and professionally. This position provides critical facilitation, development and administrative support towards the broad goals of the Professional Development Department by working with various levels of employees internally, and volunteers and members externally. The incumbent has overall responsibility for development and the execution of various projects and programs related to the professional development activities of HIMSS.
Facilitates and administers all aspects of continuing education submissions, including, but not limited to CME, CNE, ACHE, ABPM LLSA MOCs, PDU, AHIMA , ACHE, IAPP, CPD, ICN, CPD, and others, by preparing and submitting reports for accreditation review, resolving questions from accrediting bodies, and ensuring that HIMSS’ submissions meet the guidelines established by the various entities. Works with Global Health Conference registration vendor and IT to develop an on-line Continuing Education claiming system. Responds to questions throughout the year from HIMSS members and Global Health Conference attendees related to Continuing Education. Identifies new credentials to maintain on a regular basis to ensure that our CE offerings are continually evolving.
Provides administrative direction and support to the HIMSS Global Health Conference Circles, new initiatives, conferences, events, or the introduction of new technologies as directed by the VP of Professional Development. Activities, include, but are not limited to, managing membership lists, facilitating calls, distributing agendas, and other tasks as identified.
Provides administrative support for the Department’s publication efforts including author management, providing author guidelines and templates, answering questions and other aspects to ensure a successful execution of the publications.
Serves as a point of contact with Finance for the department’s budgets and works with PD senior leadership to prepare fiscally responsible budgets. Works to resolve discrepancies identified in the budgeting process. Reconciles the credit card reports of the Vice President of Professional Development monthly.
Facilitates and manages administrative support for all aspects of digital education including TIGER, professional development course content, and other learning assets entered into Litmos. Serves as LMS administrator by performing tasks including, but not limited to, uploading files and modules, creating course certificates, generating usage reports, resolving access issues, and other responsibilities.
Utilizes and maintains up-to-date knowledge of all HIMSS technologies including, but not limited to: Personify, Zoom, Litmos, Wrike, , SharePoint, Check Box, etc; assists other team members in using these technologies.
Performs other related duties as required or assigned that contribute to the effectiveness of the department.

What you will need to be successful:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Healthcare or a related field.
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in adult educational program development and project management, preferably in the health industry; a minimum of five (5) years of administrative experience with a strong background in the use of various technologies.
Ability to work independently and to prioritize and execute on multiple projects simultaneously.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with well-developed interpersonal skills.
Ability to use a variety of technologies including Outlook (mail and cross-time-zone scheduling), Word (polished documents), Excel, PowerPoint, Wrike, Zoom, Litmos, Check Box Survey Tool,, SharePoint and web-based collaboration tools
Demonstrated experience in budgeting and budget maintenance.
