The National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions (NAFCU) is seeking to hire an Associate Director of Human Resources. This generalist position reports directly to the Director of Human Resources & Administration, and shares responsibility for recruitment, hiring, benefits management, payroll, policies, and administration of personnel functions, with a special focus on training for the staff.

What you'll do:
Administration of all HR functions, including payroll, salaries and bonuses, internal training and professional development, employee benefits, performance management, recruitment, personnel actions, and employee support issues.
Ensuring that the internal staff is provided with training resources, which includes training sessions for the entire office, individual groups, teams, or divisions.
Assisting in the recruitment and selection process for the hiring of new staff, including: announcement and advertising of position openings; coordinating the screening of applicants and scheduling of personal or virtual interviews; facilitating hiring decisions; and, maintaining up to date salary data.
Maintaining the Performance Management System: adding and updating profiles, training managers and staff in the use of the system, assisting managers in the addition of goals, adding new reviews, and overseeing the overall schedule and process.
Working with new staff to provide on-boarding and orientation.
Planning for and overseeing staff appreciation events and milestones.
Supporting the Director and the Senior Accounting & Payroll Administrator with respect to bi-weekly payroll, working with ADP on payroll issues, benefits reporting, and required year-end and audit reporting.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field. SHRM certification is a plus.
Minimum of two years’ experience in Human Resource work including: policies, payroll and compensation, benefits, performance management programs, recruitment, and training. Strong training and payroll experience are a must.
Outstanding interpersonal skills; ability to handle sensitive employee situations effectively; ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and to build trusting relationships with staff at all levels of the organization.
Ability to effectively communicate with staff at all levels, both orally and in writing.
Effective organizational and time management skills.
Ability to operate effectively in an environment of multiple and shifting priorities, high urgency, and tight deadlines.
