We are looking for someone to join our team as the Senior Manager, Industry Research Programs & Volunteer Operations. Summary/Objective The Senior Manager of Industry Research Programs & Volunteer Operations works as part of the ASAE Research Foundation team to support and manage high impact research initiatives, activities, research projects, member/volunteer projects, and research department functions. This position is responsible for 1) serving as staff lead to a range of research projects and program initiatives 2) providing project management support for all phases of market and industry research, including management of the foundation’s Research Agenda and Research Catalog; 3) providing support and guidance to fundraising events, and other donor relation activities 4) providing volunteer management to the Research Committee and other assigned volunteer groups; 5) serving as the point of contact for member and staff inquiries about research projects, resources, and funding.

Industry Research Programs
Provide staff leadership for high impact, multi-year research initiatives such as the Societal Impact and ForesightWorks projects
Provide staff leadership for other industry research including task force operations and research projects
Conduct cursory literature searches on select topics related to association management and research study concepts.
Provide volunteer management to the Research Committee and other assigned volunteer groups.
For select projects, will collaborate with other volunteer groups on the alignment of functions and program initiatives with Research and Knowledge Dissemination team.
Coordinate meeting and event logistics, records and prepare minutes for conference calls and Research Committee meeting
Ensures that ASAE’s priorities and expectations for volunteers are upfront and clear in onboarding process, operations, and throughout the council/committee year.
Provides staff leadership on the development and recruitment of AdHoc/Short-term volunteer opportunities for research projects and program initiatives.
Internal group collaboration
Co-leads planning for ASAE Research Foundation experience at the ASAE Annual Meeting
Supports ASAE Donor Relations team on events, annual initiatives, and fundraising activities
Respond to/direct inquiries and requests for information from members of the ASAE community for research-related resour
Work with content dissemination staff to maintain research projects and program initiative data & records, status of work, resources & deliverables.
Work with content dissemination staff to coordinate and maintain information placed on ASAE Research Foundation’s web site related to current research initiatives and research finding
Work with varying departments to coordinate collaboration across the organization on research projects
Supports the development of documents, policies, and practices for department and volunteers.
Support research team on an as-needed basis (quality control, etc.)
Project management skills (5+ years)
Strong project management skills
Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload
Demonstrated attention to detail to plan and implement logistics
Demonstrated ability to serve as project manager or lead research initiative(s)
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Forms)
Volunteer management skills (5+ years)
Demonstrated ability to work with volunteers and colleagues at all levels
Ability to maintain a positive and customer service orientation at all times
Within sphere of responsibility, ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Familiarity with volunteer management skills helpful
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, and co-workers
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
Market research skills (1-3 years)
Knowledge and familiarization with the market research process
Basic qualitative and quantitative research skills
Openness to learning about the research process and implementation
Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in management or administration-oriented field, communication, education, or other area that parallels the position requirements.
Three or more years in a similar position (e.g., project management, administration).
Preferred Education and Experience Experience working in a nonprofit or association environment desirable.
Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
***This position will only be fully remote through August 20, 2021.***
Physical Demands This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Travel Minimal travel is expected for this position.
