Certification and Education Coordinator

Turnaround Management Association (TMA) is searching for an experienced customer oriented professional. This newly created position will be someone who has precise attention to detail, takes initiative, and has strong problem solving abilities. Furthermore, this highly visible role will be an integral part of working with TMA's membership, volunteers, and staff in managing TMA's certification program along with much more!

Who is TMA?

Turnaround Management Association (TMA) (non for profit) is the most professionally diverse organization in the corporate restructuring, renewal, and corporate health space. We are a community of professionals who work with companies to improve performance, manage disruption, restructure, work through insolvency, preserve equity, and drive significantly improved results. Established in 1988 and located in downtown Chicago on Wacker Drive, TMA has nearly 10,000 members in 54 chapters worldwide, including 35 North American chapters. Members include turnaround practitioners, attorneys, accountants, advisors, liquidators, consultants, as well as academic, government employees, and members of the judiciary. TMA provides members the opportunity to network and attend educational sessions to hone skills and expand their contacts. What is the Opportunity?

Under the leadership of the Program Director, Education & Certification, the Certification and Education Coordinator will work directly with membership, related committees, and TMA staff as the point of contact key in coordinating TMA's continuing education, certification, and professional development programs. Specifically, they would be responsible for the following:

• Act as a primary liaison to the TMA Certification Oversight Committee and Standards Subcommittee developing meeting agendas, supporting material, creating meeting minutes, as well as other committee administration related duties
• Coordinate efforts to update the certification curriculum, liaising with volunteer committees and vendors to ensure TMA Certification Exam content reflects curriculum and industry best practice
• Work with Program Director and other TMA leadership to create and update any changes to TMA certification policies and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) as well as maintain certification program content
• Serve as main point of contact for TMA staff, membership, and prospects for any certification issues or customer service inquiries
• Ensure accuracy of database certification information while working closely with Membership team
• Work with Marketing as needed to assist in developing and implementing marketing strategy and tracking results related to certification program
• Manage TMA member content library to ensure standardization of content
• Support Program Director in running virtual education programs using Zoom
• Gather, analyze, and interpret educational activity information to identify needs of members of the profession
• Oversee Continuing Legal Education (CLE), Continuing Professional Education (CPE), and Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credit offerings, and support TMA chapters who offer continuing education (CE) programs
• Keep abreast of continuing education (CE) standards, policies, and procedures; apply them in practice as needed
• Other responsibilities as assigned or required

Interviews: Will be held on a virtual basis. Final interview to be held in person.

Job Location: Hybrid role with at least two days in the Chicago office (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday) other days virtual.

Relocation assistance will not be provided.

What qualifications are needed?

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of experience and training
• Two plus years' administrative experience; certification and education experience a plus
• Experience with Zoom, Asana, Office 365, database management; Working with MS Teams, Excel, SharePoint a plus
• Exceptional organization, problem-solving/analytical abilities, attention to detail and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Self-starter that can engage with subject matter experts, volunteers, and vendors effectively
• Strong customer service skills
• Possess a commitment to excellence and a desire to exceed expectations
• Nonprofit and/or prior association experience preferred
