POSITION SUMMARY
The Arthroscopy Association of North America seeks Data Management and Research Specialist to be part of its team-oriented staff. The Data Management and Research Specialist will be responsible for supporting AANA and the Data and Research Product Manager with collection, management and analysis of data. In addition, the Data Management and Research Specialist will support the association’s internal and external research functions. The Data Management & Research Specialist will assist the Data and Research Product Manager in providing support to the Research Committee as well as data initiatives valuable to the Education and the Learning Center Committees. The position will report to the Data and Research Product Manager and be part of the six-member Education and Research department and the overall AANA team.
Responsibilities
- Manage communications as they relate to research initiatives and projects
- Provide business insights through data collected using qualitative and quantitative research.
- Survey design associated with educational outcomes and feedback as well as marketing efforts utilizing Survey Monkey or other tools as required.
- Manage the data collection of educational survey data from AANA Lab and other courses.
- Manage AANA’s Google Analytics platform and update of web information tracking
- Assist in the maintenance of databases for all initiatives.
- Assist with the statistical and analytical expertise in the interpretation of data.
- Assist the Liaison to the AANA Research Committee in administrative tasks for the submission, review and selection process for AANA Research Grants. Collect information on outcomes from AANA funded research projects to utilize in promotions or other initiatives.
- Contributes research, findings and insights for potential new business development.
- Other duties as assigned by the Data and Research Product Manager and the Vice President of Education and Research
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to plan and direct multiple projects and resources simultaneously.
- Experience with data management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Survey design experience
- Ability to learn business case uses for data analytics and research at AANA.
- Must be an effective problem solver.
- Strong analytical eye and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Experience as a Google Analytics manager preferred
- Self-reliant and adept at queries, report writing and presentation of findings.
- Ability to interact effectively and work congenially in a small office environment and with outside vendors.
- Effectively work with volunteers at all levels.
Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in science-based field with quantitative experience is required, Masters’ degree a plus.
- Minimum of 2 – 5 years’ experience is preferred, with 2+ years’ experience as an analyst preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office and association management systems (e.g. Microsoft CRM/iMIS).
- Knowledge of advanced statistical methods through training and experience.
- Experience with health-care terminology and related data is strongly preferred.
Work Environment
Nature of work requires ability to operate standard office equipment, communicate and exchange information, collect, compile, and prepare work documents, set-up and maintain work files. Work is performed in a professional office environment, in the Orthopaedic Learning Center and remote sites. Position requires some availability for extended hours and occasional non-traditional hours (weekends) to perform job duties.
