Under supervision of the Executive Director, the Marketing Specialist is responsible for creating a year-long plan to promote the organization’s annual conference, membership, and training areas with the following goals:
Retain and grow membership.
Retain and grow conference attendance, sponsorship, exhibitors, and partnerships.
Increase the use of our educational content and programming.
Grow database with interested prospects.
Create a marketing strategy that promotes the overall organization as well as development micro-plans for each business unit.
Differentiate the organization from its competition.
Work with the staff and board to create a compelling value proposition.
Specific responsibilities:
Work with membership, conference, and education staff to write content for the organization’s website, social media platforms, e-newsletters, magazine, and through organization’s partners.
Create an overarching marketing plan and micro-plans to help each area meet goal.
Generate membership and conference campaigns, analyze results, and recommend ways to increase success.
Develop collateral material for the conference, membership, and general information for use with the organization as well as placement with stakeholders and partners.
Work with the Conference Manager regarding overall messaging, deliverables, and communication with sponsors, exhibitor, media, and partners.
Work with the Membership Manager to design prospecting and renewal campaigns, onboarding materials, overall communications, and more.
Work with the Training and Education Manager to create PowerPoint Templates for education/training programs including the use of Zoom and other technology to conduct on-line educational programs.
Write press announcements/releases, design awards, identify give-aways and more to increase brand recognition.
Other duties as assigned to increase the organization’s visibility, credibility, and success.
Background:
Relevant college degree such as marketing, advertising, media-design, etc.
Good writer/communicator able to easily convey information.
Ability to create social-medial/website/email/direct mail campaigns.
Experience designing collateral materials including ads, brochures, flyers, videos, and more.
Ability to take direction and meet deadlines.
Proactive, high energy, able to work quickly to meet deadlines.
