Position Summary
The AAVMC is seeking a Manager for Information Technology Services to serve as the key liaison between AAVMC’s internal staff and technology vendors. The position serves as the primary point of contact for new and evolving IT needs. The position also serves as an escalation point and advocate for support-related issues with existing systems, services, and vendors.
The Manager for Information Technology Services will develop a broad and deep understanding of the organization’s business, operations, IT systems, and technology-based intellectual property. The role is responsible for partnering with the senior management team and appointed staff to identify areas and opportunities to leverage technology to support the organization’s strategic goals and initiatives, and develop IT strategies and technology road maps
The Manager for Information Technology Services is responsible for developing strategic relationships with AAVMC’s technology partners and ensuring that the organization is getting maximum value from existing IT tools and services. The role also requires environmental scanning to identify new technology, services, and partnerships.
As a resource, the Manager for Information Technology Services will be an experienced technology resource well versed in planning for and managing systems implementations, integration, and resources.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Evaluate all technology-related projects and initiatives to ensure scope, requirements, scale, and integrations are fully understood, all appropriate options are considered, and risks are evaluated
Work closely with staff at all levels to understand requirements, identify appropriate technology solutions and champion them within the organization
Assess and evaluate completed projects to demonstrate budgetary and efficiency impacts and ROI
Develop and nurture relationships with existing vendors and assess regularly
Continually research new products that will add value and improve efficiency
Serve as point of contact for tech support and website tech support
Perform tasks as deemed necessary and as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline
Business Analysis: minimum 3-5 years
Information Technology experience: minimum 5 years
IT Project Management: minimum 5 years
Basic understanding of systems architecture and integrations
Technical knowledge of cloud-based systems such as CRM systems, learning management systems, single-sign-on, and systems integrations of online services
Project Management experience and experience or familiarity with project management software such as Smartsheet
Previous experience working in a diverse, complex, fast-paced, technology-driven hybrid work environment
Knowledge of data structure and governance
Competent proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and other technical tools for sharing and collaboration
Ability to prioritize and work on several competing tasks at the same time
Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, and presentation skills; comfortable engaging with all levels of the organization including the Board and committees
Ability to write Request for Proposal, business processes, and training material
