Do you have experience with a nonprofit or association working with technical programs and member engagement? Are you looking for a flexible and hybrid work environment? Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology (IEST) is seeking a talented professional that will work closely with program leadership and volunteers to coordinate activities of IEST’s standards and practices program and industry partner outreach. The Coordinator, Technical Programs and Member Engagement will be responsible for administering aspects of technical programs, industry partner programs, and member outreach to increase awareness of IEST.
Located in Schaumburg, the office currently offers a hybrid work model that combines time in the office (1-2 days/week) and remote work. The position is full-time (37.5 hours/week) and offers a flexible work schedule.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director and Manager, Technical Programs, this position will support industry partners and corporate member outreach, assist with administration of IEST Working Groups and Recommended Practices, and coordinate all activities for the volunteer leadership groups assigned to these programs.
Responsibilities:
Enhance IEST’s membership engagement strategy as it relates to individual members and corporate outreach; seek innovative ways to drive engagement and revenue
Handle administration of the US TAG (volunteer leadership group) to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Committee 209 Cleanrooms and associated controlled environments; schedule meetings, draft meeting minutes; develop ballots, keep accurate voting records noting the position of the US on international standards produced by ISO/TC 209, and assist with annual ANSI reporting; ensure compliance with Standards & Practices policy for American National Standards
Coordinate with WG chairs to schedule in-person meetings during conferences and virtual meetings throughout the year; participate in quarterly Working Group Chairs
Managing IEST Working Group administration by maintaining program management spreadsheets, preparing Recommended Practice ballots, compiling comments and interacting with WG chairs to exchange drafts and materials, and working with staff to keep accurate voting records for ballots and WG rosters
Increase awareness of IEST through individual memberships and corporate member programs; work with marketing staff to implement targeted promotional strategies
Oversee membership outreach plan (new members, renewals, and engagement processes), work with the team to track outreach activities, membership surveys, and monthly membership statistics
Serve as staff liaison to coordinate initiatives of Membership Ambassadors (volunteer membership group)
Promote corporate member programs to current, previous, and potential companies; oversee staff who track corporate member benefits, and work with leadership to expand corporate outreach programs
Travel to IEST and liaison conferences/trainings and assist as needed (two conferences per year, various single-day trainings in IEST office or virtual)
Answers phones and supports organization and programs as needed

Requirements:
3+ years of related experience working with an association or non-profit, specifically with a technical society preferred
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required
Ability to work independently and efficiently under deadlines; closely manage project timelines and records with minimal oversight, maintaining quality, focus, and accuracy
Excellent interpersonal skills; interact professionally and diplomatically with individuals at all levels, including volunteers and staff; work effectively with and gain input from various audiences
Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
A positive attitude and strong customer service orientation
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google suites, association management systems (AMS) and content management systems (CMS)
Ability and willingness to travel occasionally to conferences and trainings and no impediments to the ability to receive international travel visas, if necessary; to travel via air and participate both internationally and in the US at various meetings, site visits, and conferences
