*This position is located in Rosemont, IL, just outside of Chicago by O'Hare Airport. It requires the individual to be in-person up to 3x per week (currently 2x per week) and does not provide a relocation package.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Education Program Manager will provide content development for live and eLearning education activities. Serving as both a researcher and facilitator to ensure the most relevant educational content, learning objectives and formats are delivered to the membership. This position oversees specific educational activities including but not limited to the AANA Annual Meeting, Specialty Day, and others as assigned. Provides support to ensure proper documentation for ACCME accreditation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Researches the latest education and arthroscopic-specific trends and translates into recommendations to ensure relevant, timely and valuable curriculum for AANA’s educational portfolio.
Provides input into activity agendas to ensure optimal learning objectives and content that matches learning needs in the arthroscopy and related curriculum.
Analyzes data from activity evaluations to foster content enhancements and format improvements.
Partners with Education and other department staff to ensure a team-based approach to AANA’s education portfolio.
Oversees key tasks for the Annual Meeting including but not limited to general scientific sessions, Instructional Course Lecture (ICL) and abstract submission process; Speaker Monitor process the Residents and Fellows programs, disclosure of interest process, content for the Mobile App, evaluation, and onsite management. Assists the Vice President with new Annual Meeting tasks as assigned.
Oversees the Specialty Day program including agenda development, correspondence, evaluation, and onsite execution. Conducts post-activity assessment for improvements and enhancements. Partners with other AANA staff to ensure adherence to AAOS and internal deadlines.
Supports the education team to gather education-related data for the Annual Report, board reports, education related committees and other miscellaneous history or key performance indicators.
Supports ACCME accreditation compliance through proper documentation and policy adherence.
Drafts and monitors project timelines, work plans and adjusts as necessary to ensure success. Works with the Education team to monitor policies and adjust based on need/budget.
Vettes proposals and facilitates contract negotiations with vendors as appropriate.
Performs other duties as assigned to support the Vice President and Education team to ensure program/activity success.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong written and verbal communication and diplomacy skills.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education, business, or related field
Minimum 2-4 years in association or related organization’s education domain.
Hands-on experience in developing, planning, organizing, and implementing CME offerings in a variety of formats and venues.
Experience with associations and specifically medical associations preferred.
Experience with education related technologies and other resources necessary to develop and deliver quality offerings.
Experience with Microsoft Office and association management systems (e.g., Microsoft CRM/iMIS).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Nature of work requires ability to operate standard office equipment. Requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile, and prepare work documents, set-up and maintain work files.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a professional office environment, in the Orthopaedic Learning Center and remote sites. Position requires some availability for extended hours and occasional non-traditional hours (weekends) to perform job duties.
