We are seeking a Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, responsible for building partnerships to support Chicago Commons' mission and programs.
Senior Manager and Foundation Relations builds relationships and partnerships with individuals and institutions by communicating our vision and accomplishments. This person provides strategic direction and oversight of corporate and foundation relations. The Senior Manager works in partnership with the Director of Meetings & Corporate Development, IOH to develop and execute the organization’s multi-year fundraising plan and capital campaigns. The Senior Manager plays a strong role in executing the organization’s strategic plan. The Senior Manager will be a leader for the IOH Foundation and participate actively in strategic planning, budget, and work plan creation, special events, communications, and branding efforts, and program development and enhancements. The Senior Manager is expected to develop a strong working relationship with other ADHA and IOH staff to further the overall mission of the organization.
The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) represents the needs of registered dental hygienists, dental hygiene students, and the greater oral care community through leadership, education, advocacy, and the value of belonging to a professional organization.
In collaboration with the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA), IOH Foundation helps ADHA members meet educational needs, expand the field of dental hygiene and provide oral health care and education to their communities. IOH will continue to improve the public’s total health by increasing the awareness of and access to quality oral healthcare for all.
Supporting advancements in the dental hygiene profession through research grants
Developing dental hygienists’ access to educational programs through scholarships
Interviews: will be conducted in-person in Chicago office
Position Location: Based in Chicago, hybrid/remote work available
Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Education: Bachelor's degree; concentration in nonprofit/public management is a plus.
Key Functions:
IOH Foundation (80%):
The Senior Manager works in partnership with the Director of Meetings & Corporate Development, IOH to develop and execute the organization’s multi-year fundraising plan and campaigns.
Serves as the point of contact and manages Board Operations and provides strategic guidance to the IOH Chair and Board of Directors.
The Senior Manager will be a leader for the IOH Foundation and participate actively in strategic planning, budget, and work plan creation, special events, communications, and branding efforts, and program development and enhancements.
The Senior Manager is expected to develop a strong working relationship with other ADHA & IOH staff to further the overall mission of the organization.
Ensure steady growth and development of existing and new grants and scholarships.
Administer and streamline IOH Scholarships; Community Service Grants and Research Grants Application Process through an online platform.
Coordinate and manage the distribution of grants, honorariums, and scholarships.
Assist in the growth and management of the IOH Review Committees and IOH Liaison Committees.
Participate and support communications and marketing strategies.
Email campaigns and newsletters and social posts
Oversees tracking and documentation of program outcome evaluation and statistics for grant reports.
Coordinate and strengthen the IOH liaison program consisting of volunteers/representatives nationwide. Provide resource development, fundraising guidance, and monthly reporting support.
Maintain databases for all donor statistics and oversee the donor. Acknowledgment and recognition process, including honor roll/awards.
Collaborate with ADHA Finance division to ensure accurate reporting of donor database requirements.
Collaborate with the Director in creating and coordinating corporate donor information and opportunities for programs and giving.
Manage all activities for IOH during the Annual Conference.
Support the execution of assigned corporate sponsored programs and ensure they meet program objectives.
Provide support to assigned special committees, ad hoc workgroups, and task forces.
Perform other duties as assigned.
ADHA (15%):
Support the Director with administrative tasks related to sponsorship contracts, reports, prospect research, and internal/external communications.
Coordinate invoicing of sponsorship commitments and budget tracking in collaboration with ADHA Finance division.
Assist with vendor projects related to sponsorship fulfillment and communications for ADHA Annual Conference.
Support the execution of assigned corporate programs and committed sponsorships to ensure goals, strategies, and metrics are met.
Provide support during House of Delegates.
General (5%):
Assist in the implementation of ADHA's strategic and annual operating plans.
Support ADHA's marketing and communications efforts.
Support the execution of assigned corporate-sponsored programs and ensure they meet program objectives.
Support ADHA's collective membership recruitment and retention efforts through assigned division and intra-divisional initiatives.
Provide support to assigned special committees, ad hoc workgroups, and task forces.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of development or foundation experience required.
Demonstrable knowledge of the 501(c)3 foundation process, volunteer management, and database management.
Experience working with associations and knowledge of membership database software is preferred.
Excellent organizational and analytical experience with strategic planning processes, as well as an ability to work under pressure and problem-solve.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including a high level of attention to detail and active listening skills.
Proficiency in using MS Office products including word processing, spreadsheets, publishing, presentation and database applications.
Comfortable using virtual meeting platforms.
Proven initiative and ability to work independently.
Ability to travel within the network and out of state when needed.

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Capable of working closely with ADHA members, donors, IOH board and committee members, and staff.
