Position Responsibilities and Activities:
Oversight of membership projects and organization within the office, including management of print and email marketing materials and campaigns and membership correspondence
Represents NACo at 15 – 18 state association conferences annually to promote NACo membership recruitment and retention
Manages materials inventory including in-house and off-site materials coordinated by the Membership Assistant
Manages NACo’s Live Healthy Prescription card program, serving as primary contact with program partner and project lead related to marketing, state association alliances, fiscal responsibilities, and oversight of team members assistant with management of the program
Oversees the annual member renewal process in collaboration with the Director of Membership and the Membership Assistant to generate invoices, letters and unpaid dues follow up to ensure the association maintains its high member retention rate
Oversees member correspondence, including working with Membership Assistant to send onboarding emails, prepare new membership packets and mailings and other assorted activities
Interfaces regularly with the IT department to ensure that the member perspective is considered in external facing systems, messaging and experiences, membership renewal, retention, engagement efforts, external database integration and accuracy of county contact data are incorporated into the association management software (AMS).
Oversees and manages NACo’s voting and credentials process for the NACo annual conference business meeting including pre-conference communication, fielding member questions, collaborating with IT and other staff to ensure a smooth voting experience, staffing credentials booth at the NACo annual conference and other responsibilities that arise.
Collaborates with the NACo IT and Counties Futures Lab on the development, administration, maintenance and future road map of the association’s Engagement Index (E-Index) to define and track member engagement over time
Oversee NACo’s Ambassador Program and First-time Attendee Orientation and other membership activities during NACo’s Legislative and Annual Conference
Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Comfortable interacting with a wide range of stakeholders; elected officials, county staff, state association staff and NACo staff
Demonstrated marketing and customer service skills and abilities
Ability to work independently and as a team
Proactive and collaborative
Organized and attention to detail
Knowledge of office automation systems especially Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; and familiarity with Microsoft products
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Sensitivity and tactfulness in dealing with personalities
Preference will be given to candidates with association and local government familiarity/experience, but not required
Hybrid Work Schedule: Available based on job performance and work projects
Travel is required throughout the year
