The expected full-time, 12-month salary for this position is $75,000.

ARL seeks an exceptional colleague to support the Director of Events on all of ARL’s events and operations functions. This is a full-time, temporary 12-month position. Core duties of the position include supporting the coordination, logistics and management of the Association’s flagship events which currently include semi-annual association meetings, the annual President’s Institute, the biennial Library Assessment Conference, and the triennial IDEAL conference. This position may also support other emerging ARL events. This position contributes to the development of a trusting and inclusive culture which reinforces ARL norms and values including the Code of Conduct.
Major Responsibilities
Support planning and managing events logistics, pre, during and post event (e.g. materials preparation, speaker logistics, sponsor logistics, PowerPoint design and creation, run of shows, etc.)
Works in partnership with Director, Events to manage discovery and sourcing for events, contracting and venue and hotel planning and engagement.
Participates in providing support for event task forces and committees. Such support may include drafting event communication materials, taking notes, and supporting the overall work of the committee
Build and design ARL event registration websites and mobile apps; manage the functionality and user interface and provide support to attendees; including call for proposals processes
Organize and manage all onsite registration functions, production office, shipping, supply ordering; this role will be logistics focused onsite
Support development of the event’s marketing and communications (in partnership with ARL’s Communications team) and management through event software and other channels
Contribute to the development of ARL’s overall event strategy and goals
Attend all ARL in-person events, varies year to year

Required
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years experience in event planning and execution
Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Salesforce,
Experienced in event management and registration website development (Swoogo, Cvent or similar) and mobile event apps
Experience with systems/information architecture and website management
Experience with cloud computing (Google Suite preferred)
Preferred
Association, higher education, and/or non-profit
CMP certification or a desire to achieve certification
Supervisory responsibilities: This position has no direct reports.
Travel requirements: This position requires travel within the United States and Canada. All travel expenses will be paid by the organization.
