Fincantieri Marine Group (“FMG”) is seeking a Deputy Chief Operating Officer. Responsibilities include: supporting the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in designing and implementing business operations and strategies across all shipyards and affiliates and bringing technical expertise to management discussions. The Deputy COO is responsible for the support and development of FMG’s short-term and long-term objectives by evaluating the Company’s performance by analyzing and creating data and metrics. The Deputy COO is responsible for creating operational condition reports for FMG shipyards and affiliates. This position is responsible for providing recommendations to adjust operational budgets, when necessary; suggests methods to improve quality, efficiency and productivity, reduce costs, increase profits, and improve control measures. Works closely with the COO and senior management team to support and recommend plans for operational processes, internal infrastructures, reporting systems and company policies all designed to foster growth, profitably and efficiencies within the company. Complies with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices. Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management and industry standards. Assist in the execution of cross-functional projects such as new offerings, new business, partnership opportunities, and improvements to internal operations.
Master’s degree in marine or naval engineering, or closely related field, or foreign equivalent, 5 years’ experience in supervision or management of shipbuilding functions or processes; travel to Europe to meet with parent and affiliate Company two-three times per year.
