The Food Production Solutions Association (FPSA) is a Northern Virginia-based trade association that provides networking, marketing, training, and educational opportunities to the food processing and packaging industry.
FPSA is embarking on an exciting transformative journey to further enhance the member value proposition and its footprint as a leader in the food industry. Currently, FPSA has monthly virtual events and two annual in-person events, with plans to expand our events and engagement portfolio. Essential Job Functions:
Volunteer Engagement:
Serve as the primary staff liaison for FPSA networks, councils, and committees, including leading and managing regular planning calls, agendas, and outcomes
Work with networks, councils, and committees to develop and enhance FPSA’s resource library and position the organization as the go-to destination for industry insights, research, and data
Establish and manage key relationships with network, council, and committee members
Assist in redefining the objectives and deliverables of networks, councils, and committees to continue to improve their efficiency and value proposition
Create policies and procedures for volunteer recruitment, training, and retention that maximize the participation and impact of volunteer programs
Develop and lead an annual call for volunteer process that ensures diversity and maximizes member participation
Manage councils’ philanthropic efforts to include the FPSA Auction, Defeat Hunger campaign, Red Circle Honors program, and several other awards programs
Own and maintain accurate member data including committee lists, terms, contact information etc.
Write quarterly Network Connections Newsletter
Education:
Develop and provide best-in-class in-person and virtual education and training offerings that recruit, train, and retain the food production industry workforce
Create new avenues of participation for FPSA members and provide substantive content development for food industry segments
Work with Networks, Councils, and Committees to identify industry trends, cutting-edge speakers, key members, and customers to speak at FPSA events
Transform call for papers and speaker management process
Lead Speaker Management process to include the collection of headshots, bios, session descriptions, and logistics
Write compelling content for social media, blogs, trend reports, and newsletters to enhance member engagement and FPSA’s reach
Plan and manage all FPSA webinars
Other Duties:
Serve as the main point of contact for all volunteer and education-related inquiries
Hold volunteers accountable to timelines, deadlines, goals, and objectives
Assist in identifying potential sponsors and event partners
Assist in creating new avenues of engagement and development for FPSA members
Oversee and manage the Event App
Work with the membership department to provide accurate tracking, reporting and billing
Assist in the creation of budgets, goals, and reconciliation
Other duties as assigned based on evolving business needs
Bachelor’s degree required
At least 6 years of relevant experience preferably within an association
Skilled at project management with the ability to create process, coordinate workflow, determine priorities, meet deadlines and effectively balance competing demands
Experience managing volunteer groups
Experience creating compelling content for adult learners
Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders
Experience with AMS databases, events applications, and Microsoft Suite of products
Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone/video, and in writing
Complete projects independently with strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
Strong interpersonal skills, including tact, customer service, and flexibility to work with staff, vendors, and association members
Must have the ability to travel 3-5 times per year, including some weekends
Must be based in the greater DMV area and work in person at our McLean, Virginia offices up to 5 days per week.
