Reporting to the Executive Director of the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA) with the ability to work remotely from anywhere in the United States, the Membership Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and recruiting spray foam contractors to join our trade association by communicating the value of membership, developing strategic recruitment initiatives, and ultimately converting industry companies to increase SPFA’s membership base.
Responsibilities
Identify Key Industry Companies: Research and identify potential contractor members who would benefit from association membership.
Communicate Membership Value: Develop and deliver compelling presentations and communications that clearly articulate the benefits and value of SPFA.
Membership Conversion: Implement effective sales strategies to convert prospects into members - meeting or exceeding membership recruitment targets.
Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders to foster long-term engagement and support.
Strategic Initiatives: Develop and execute membership recruitment plans and campaigns to drive growth and increase membership retention.
Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends and market conditions to identify new opportunities for membership growth.
Collaboration: Work closely with SPFA’s marketing, technical services, certifications, events, and advocacy teams to ensure a seamless and integrated approach to recruitment and member engagement.
Reporting: Track and report on membership recruitment activities and results, providing regular updates to the Executive Director and volunteer leaders.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Proven experience in membership recruitment, sales, or business development, preferably within a trade association.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate the value of membership effectively.
Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to engage and influence key industry stakeholders.
Self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing opportunities.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic recruitment plans and achieve sales targets.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Ability to analyze market trends and leverage insights to drive membership growth.
Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as SPFA determines is necessary to meet its membership development needs.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Construction industry experience.
Master-level skills in MS Office Suite and proficiency with AMS software.
Understanding and meeting the needs of dues-paying members.

Position Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,000 + Performance Bonus
