The American Association of Endodontists (AAE) is dedicated to the excellence in the art and science of endodontics and to the highest standard of patient care. The Association inspires its members to pursue professional advancement and personal fulfillment through education, research, advocacy, leadership, communication, and service.
The AAE is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team. This is a key role that maintains financial operations and records for the AAE and the AAE Foundation.
Responsibilities include:
Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
Manages and processes biweekly payroll, including staff deductions, benefits reporting, and funding.
Records and maintains employee payroll and benefits records and acts as a resource to employees regarding payroll/benefit questions.
Assists with closing cycles, prepares accurate and timely monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
Responsible for fixed asset additions, disposals and depreciation schedules.
Assists with the annual budget process
Prepares annual audit documentation for assigned accounts
Works closely with the other accounting staff members to improve processes, modify accounting systems and procedures, while presenting accurate financial records and strengthening internal controls.

What we seek:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
At least 4 years of related experience in general ledger and financial statement preparation.
Experience with payroll and payroll processes strongly preferred.
Familiarity with the association and/or nonprofit organizations is highly desirable.
Proficiency in MS Excel, including the use of advanced functions and data analysis tools.
