Salary Details:
Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location. We target most new hire offers between the minimum up to the middle of the range.
POSITION TITLE: Senior Specialist, Workforce Development & Foundation Programs
REPORTS TO: Sr. Manager, Workforce Development & Foundation Operations
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt (Salaried)
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Specialist, Workforce Development & Foundation Programs supports the administration of the ASSP Foundation’s scholarship and grant programs, coordinates donor stewardship initiatives, and assists with key foundation operations. This role requires collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and donors to ensure effective program execution, financial processing, and workforce development initiatives. The position plays a crucial role in advancing the Foundation’s mission and impact within the safety community. Additionally, the Senior Specialist provides research and analytical support to workforce development initiatives, tracks key program performance metrics, and ensures seamless communication between stakeholders.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include but are not limited to: Scholarship and Grant Programs
Manage the Foundation’s scholarship and grant programs, including software management, application collection, review facilitation, and award distribution.
Ensure compliance with program guidelines and maintain accurate records of recipients and program impact.
Serve as staff liaison for review task forces, including recruitment, communications, and operational support.
Act as the primary contact for applicants, reviewers, and awardees.
Fundraising Operations
Assist with daily operations of the Foundation to ensure smooth execution of initiatives and alignment with strategic goals.
Maintain accurate records of Foundation activities, including programming outcomes, financial transactions, and donor relations.
Process donations, track financial allocations, and generate accurate financial reports.
Manage promotional materials for programs across various channels and partnerships.
Support the development and execution of donor stewardship initiatives to enhance engagement.
Oversee gift processing, donor acknowledgments, and recognition efforts.
Coordinate fundraising operations by working with internal teams, ASSP communities, and external partners and vendors.
Assist in drafting donor communications and tracking donor engagement metrics.
Workforce Development Program Support:
Assist in the planning and execution of workforce development initiatives, ensuring alignment with ASSP’s mission.
Understand research on labor market trends and workforce needs, providing summaries and insights to support strategy development.
Track and analyze workforce development program metrics, prepare reports to measure effectiveness and recommend improvements.
Collaborate with stakeholders to implement initiatives that support students and professionals in the field.
Support employer engagement efforts by tracking corporate partnerships and coordinating program deliverables.
Team Collaboration and Communication:
Serve as a liaison for fundraising and department-related programs, including engagement with donors, partners, and volunteers.
Work closely with marketing, finance, and membership teams to enhance visibility of ASSP Foundation and Workforce Development programs.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations on program performance and impact.
Coordinate internal and external meetings, ensuring materials and communications are well-prepared.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree.
4+ years of experience in program coordination, nonprofit operations, fundraising, or a related field.
Experience in scholarship and grant administration preferred.
Prior association or foundation experience is a plus.
Skills and Competencies
Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
Ability to support donor relationships and fundraising initiatives.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Experience in gift processing, donor databases, and financial coordination.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to track and interpret program data.
Proficient in database management. Knowledge of OpenWater, DonorPerfect and/or Nimble a plus
Apply strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly explain project concepts, requirements and expectations to team members, vendors and project stakeholders
Knowledge of association-management and association-foundation principles and familiarity with the needs and preferences of industry pro’s is a plus.

Full-time position with the ability to work M-F during normal business hours. May be expected to occasionally work outside of normal business hours
